Advanced Topics in Major Gifts and Philanthropy with Jim Bush, Jessica Browning, and Special Guests
Jim Bush and Jessica Browning of Winkler Group join a panel of Nashville nonprofit leaders for a candid discussion on the complex, real-world issues shaping major gifts, capital campaigns, and the broader philanthropic landscape, drawing on a diversity of perspectives and organizational backgrounds that you won't find in a standard training curriculum.
This capstone session is a facilitated panel discussion exploring advanced and emerging issues in fundraising and philanthropy—from shifts in donor behavior to increasingly complex giving vehicles and higher expectations around stewardship and transparency.
Topics may include year-end major gift strategy, donor-advised funds, planned giving integration, and managing donor relationships during organizational transitions. The discussion will also consider how major gifts connect with other areas of advancement, including annual giving and stewardship, without treating these functions as separate silos.
This session is designed to be candid, practical, and driven as much by participant questions as by panelist insights.
Attendees will walk away with:
Perspective on advanced fundraising and philanthropic topics affecting donor strategy
Real-world insights from organizations operating in active or recent campaigns
Considerations for navigating donor-advised funds, planned giving, and complex gifts
